I designed this because I was inspired by the recent wearing of the pins as a sign of #solidarity. Although
safety pins are originally for keeping clothing fastened, like cloth diapers or a shirt that lost a button, through history people have worn safety pins for many reasons. Pins were worn as a sign of worldly and spiritual privilege.
I, myself, wore them in the 80’s as a sign of rebellion (It was the punk era), but also later decorated them and shared them as a sign of friendship. I think a safety pin is such a simple item, but can “mean” a great deal.
This pin is a symbol of “safety” and of LOVE.
